Whilst teaching in the Painting Department at the Edna Manley School for the Visual Arts during the 1980s my paintings were mostly gestural abstractions. During the 1990s after trips to Africa figurative elements became more prominent. Current work contains references to pyramids, obelisks, mausoleums, high rise buildings in geometric form played off against a palette of tropical high resolution colour. Recent drawings still retain figurative elements.
